Does it replace my EMR?

No. FunctionalMind sits alongside whatever you already use. Notes, plans and handouts come out as a download, a PDF, an email or copied Markdown, so they go wherever you keep records.

Is my patient data used to train models?

No, never, under any plan. FunctionalMind is HIPAA compliant, your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, it is not used for training, and it is not shared with third parties. BAA on request.

What labs do you support?

Any panel you can upload as a PDF or image, including the major functional labs. We read the analytes and reference ranges off the report itself and interpret them against functional range, so you are not limited to a list of supported vendors.

What happens when the evidence is not there?

It refuses and says so. Every claim links to the paper behind it, so an answer you cannot open the source for is an answer FunctionalMind will not give you.

Is a person ever involved, or is it all AI?

Human-in-the-Middle support is included with every FunctionalMind plan. If an AI response gives you concern, appears unclear, or needs another clinical perspective, you can ask for it to be reviewed by an experienced clinician. For day-to-day support, you can also reach the FunctionalMind team by chat, email or phone, Monday to Friday, including help with workflows, prompts, uploads or unexpected AI output.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

You can export every case folder before you go. After cancellation your data is kept for 30 days in case you come back, then permanently deleted. Ask sooner and we delete it sooner.

Do I need to learn anything to use it?

You can start with a case right away. Open a folder, record a visit or upload labs, and build from there. The yearly plan also includes 1:1 onboarding and ongoing implementation support.
